ABOUT US
Nuclear GmbH was set up by Dipl.-Ing. Walter Gärtner a former director of the company Koch & Sterzel X-ray manufacturing in 1958. After his retirement from Koch & Sterzel he realized his ideas for the NDT – sector by developing and constructing the first gamma-radiographic cameras for industrial testing with isotopes in Germany.
The first generation using lead as shielding material turned out to be too heavy and unwieldy. Due to the radioactive isotopes having higher and higher activities lead hadn't sufficient shielding potential anymore. The commercial and technical success of Nuclear GmbH started with the introduction of Teletron cameras consisting of Uranium-238 depleted as shielding material and 3 types of mechanics in 1969.
In 1973, Dipl.-rer.pol. Lothar Gärtner was introduced as new General Director of Nuclear GmbH leading the company for the next 45 years. The prior business of Nuclear GmbH is the resale of high activity industrial sources, the construction and maintenance of Teletron cameras and accessory parts as well as the construction of specialized equipment such as
▸ Teletron SU 50 A/N/S
▸ Teletron SU 100 A/N/S
▸ Teletron SU 100 V
▸ Teletron RB 1
▸ Teletron DS2 close proximity
In 2009, the third generation of the Gärtner-family was introduces as General Director. Jeanette C. Gärtner turned her attention into the developing of Teletron cameras taking into consideration the growing technical standards and the higher demands regarding radiation safety and security. Nuclear GmbH started to expand its product line with the help of business partners sharing the goal to be reliable, honest and fair suppliers for NDT-customers and partners.
Presently, the product line comprises not only Teletron equipment but also QSA Global Inc.'s Sentinel 880 and Gammamat products enabling NDT customers to reload, maintain and repair a huge range of camera equipment.
It is very important to all members and partners of Nuclear GmbH to guarantee a good customer service including consulting and assistance in all NDT-matters.
Nuclear GmbH has obtained all necessary licenses and certifications including DIN EN ISO 9001.
